Check out what our legendary competitors had to say about it.
I left 59 RE some 13 years ago, so was really looking forward to this, after being goaded into it by someone I didn’t know on Facebook who read my gobby post about finding Tough Mudder easy.
I thought your event was brilliant. The obstacles are genuine obstacles unlike some other races. The staff are great – people seemed to love being given burpees to do!
The girl I ran with commented on how it had a feeling of quiet confidence. I told her that’s the Commando way.
It’s the opposite of Tough Mudder which is big, expensive and loud.
Just wanted to say a huge well done today. Firstly and above everything else the Marshalls and staff were all amazing, so professional, so friendly and so encouraging and supportive.
The course was great and all the obstacles were fun and achievable. I think you thought of everything, the showers were a great touch, the beer and the guy singing in the tent all added to a great atmosphere and we’ll definitely be back and be telling all our friends.
So well done guys, our team were very grateful for all your time today and especially being out in the cold. What you guys do on the day and how it all comes together makes our experience a memorable one and for all the right reasons.
I only started training a few weeks ago when I signed up, and am not particularly fit, but had a great time all the way round, even in the muddy warm up.
The website is really well put together and informative, all the registration stuff was straightforward and directions clear.
The venue with all the tents (and scary-looking showers) worked really well. It was so well-managed and manned the whole way through, from warm-up to de-brief to instructors pushing people round the course and helping at the obstacles. All the people out in the field were friendly and encouraging, even when shouting and barking orders. A lot of the obstacles were seriously fun.
Would just like to say thanks for organising a great course. Team dad’s army loved it as for most of us it was are first ever obstacle course since we were kids. Well done to your marines, still buzzing Sunday morning.
