Covid 19 measures for Commando Series 2020
We are delighted to confirm that Commando Series 2020 has been given the thumbs up from the Local Safety Advisory Group. Having submitted very detailed plans, in line with government guidelines and along with organising the hugely successful socially distanced multisport event at Hever Castle last month hosting over 4,000 participants and supporters, we are more than confident that we can put on a great event for you in November.
We want to reassure all participants that we are working closely with governments, safety advisors, Hever Castle and suppliers to ensure that our 2020 event is run in accordance with current health and safety guidance. Our increased health and safety measures include:
Before the event
Briefings and Health Waiver
Digital race pack will be sent to all participants two weeks before event.
An online briefing video will be shared with all participants two weeks before event.
A health check questionnaire will be signed by every participant.
At the event
Staggered arrival times.
Socially distanced throughout from the moment of leaving your car.
Temperature check on arrival.
Socially distanced warm up.
Warm up groups reduced to a max of 20 people, with household groups and bubbles socially distanced from others.
All starts conducted on an individual basis i.e. one person or household group starts every 15 seconds.
Each obstacle cleaned on a regular basis (both wiping and alcohol based sanitiser mist).
Hand sanitisers at obstacles.
No Finish Line tape.
All competitors help themselves to set of dog tags rather than being handed one.
No Landing Craft obstacle due to the need to maintain social distancing.
If you have hired equipment to be worn on the course – i.e. kit, rucksack/bergen, wooden rifle – this will be cleaned before and after each use.
All staff will be wearing masks.
All finish line staff will be wearing full PPE.
Reduction of close, indoor spaces.
No changing rooms.
No bag drop.
Increased cleaning of all toilets and surfaces throughout event village area.
All concession and trade stands have submitted details of how they operate in a safe, socially distanced way which they do so throughout the event.
No climbing wall in the village.
