Everything you need to know about the event
The Venue

HEVER CASTLE, HEVER, KENT, TN8 7NG

Hever Castle; the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Fortified with crenellations, a moat, portcullis. The 400 year old defensive structure and a British icon, creates the perfect backdrop for Commando.

CAR PARKING

Car park opens at 0730. On approaching the Castle, drive through the large brown wooden gates between the MAIN GATES of Hever Castle and Hever Church. Follow the ‘Commando’ car-park signs. Disabled parking available on-site.

ARRIVE ON TIME, PREPARED & HYDRATED!

Strongly recommended for the rough terrain ahead:

– Long sleeved top
– Leggings, cargo pants or combat trousers
– Trail shoes or military style boots
– Towel and change of warm clothes
– Wet kit bag

You will be issued with kit:

– Camo paint (Apply before the warm up)
– Commando T-shirt (To be worn over your long sleeve top)

Identification

– Bring a copy of your photo ID.

START TIMES

REGISTRATION CHECK-IN TIME: 0800 - 1230
Make sure you check in ONE hour before your start time

There are 10 waves, released every 30 minutes. First wave starts at 0900, last wave starts at 1330.

Most Family groups will go off between waves 5 and 8.

If you or a member of your group has been assigned a different start time, please EMAIL US with your/their name, current start time, and preferred start time.

Spectators and Camping

Spectators

Spectators are welcome. There is a heavily discounted entry fee of £10 for adults and £5 for children between 6-16yrs (5 yrs and under go free). You can purchase spectator tickets in advance HERE , alternatively, please bring cash on the day.

There will be retail outlets, food concessions, a large heated tent, live music, bar, bag drop, information point & survival displays.

THERE WILL BE NO CARD PAYMENT FACILITIES OR CASH POINT SO PLEASE BE SURE TO BRING CASH WITH YOU.

Camping

Campsite open from 1600 Friday 11th November to 1800 Sunday 13th November.  If you would like to book standard or authentic bivouac Commando camping, CLICK HERE

Location of standard camping it at the back of the event field, depending on the weather in the run up to the event, you may or may not be able to drive your car up to the campsite.

If you have booked the bivouac experience, we will email you prior to the event with information including timings and what to bring with you.

POST RACE

You've got what it takes, you've signed up. Now, why not book yourself a Post-Commando massage - time to let yourself & your body recover.

A post-event massage will reduce muscle tension caused by the Commando endurance course, which can lead to small tears in the muscles which need to repair, so you’re all ready for the next challenge you set yourself!
